I may have mentioned in my March Naillion that monochrome is one of the key trends for this year. The simple black and white look is sweeping the fashion world in the form of just about everything from stripes, spots and prints. I can see why this simple trend is so popular as it can give such a clean, futuristic and striking look. As promised I’d do a take on my monochrome nails and here they are!
What you’ll need/what I used: L-R: Boots Basecoat, 17 Lasting Fix Mini Skirt white nail varnish, Sally Hansen Insta-dry top coat, Nail varnish remover, black nail art pen.
Step one: Paint your nails one thin coat of basecoat to protect the natural nails and to prevent staining.
Step two: Paint all your nails a white colour. (This may require two coats)
Step three: After all the white has dried take your black nail art pen and simply outline the edge of your nails. (You will definitely need a steady hand for this!)
Step four: Once all the nails have completely dried paint on a topcoat to protect your designs and prevent them from chipping.
And that’s it! You now have bang on trend monochrome nails, these nails are simple and can be easily matched with any outfit.
I hope you’ve enjoyed this simple and striking tutorial.
